Homemade Gifts-

I currently am freaking out trying to finish the quilted wallhangings I am making the families on my list. I set out a few weeks ago to ambitiously duplicate a cute snowman wallhanging I saw in a catalog. (Actually, it was a Christmas card of a wallhanging, but that's neither here nor there).

The snowman had its outline in random white buttons and had a felt hat & scarf. The carrot nose and branch arms were done in embroidery. Since I have tons of these supplies hanging around, I thought I would make 5 of the wallhangings to give away and 1 to keep. However, in doing these in assembly line fashion, I feel ike I am getting nowhere and my creativity is being doused by reality. AND my sister & her family are only coming up for Thanksgiving- so could we please have all their gifts ready & wrapped by turkey day, so she can take them home for Christmas?!? I had to break with the assembly line these past few days and just buck up and finish hers- it came out nicely, but now I know I'll be finishing the rest by maybe Eastertime!

(Side note- I once tried to do the same thing making Easter bunny wall hangings for everyone- a surprise, unexpected present for a traditionally non-giving holiday. I had cut out the million and a half pieces for the 6 wallhangings- then the foster worker called us with our first daughter! The intended recipients really did get their Easter gifts at CHristmas that year! You'd think I'd learn...)
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)
