That being said, I also might not know as much about the small vendor as I would about the more corporate shopping venues- so which would be worse- supporting a local nasty or a multnational conglomerate one? I have friends who would rather go without than buy anything Walmart- but I don't take it that far- I try to keep it to a bare minimum. I always say- the best I can do as a lesbian parent is to subversively raise happy, independant, and well cared for kids. Our "experience" economy is based in large part in the purchasing and performance of stories. Wal-Mart is where people go to get "actual value".
