[...] So you are responsibly living below your means, you have conscientiously built up an emergency fund of cash for 3-6 months’ living expenses, you have no 'bad' debt, and you've even taken care of other basic financial housekeeping, like adequate insurance and a will. Congratulations! You are probably ready to face the risks and rewards of investing 101.
Hi Betty,

I'm very sorry to hear about your financial difficulties! As you may know, I've had financial issues in the past myself, as have many of our readers. Hopefully as you look around on Queercents, particularly under the Debt, Frugality and Hints sections, you will get some help.

Nina's latest on Debt Settlement should give some ideas, too. http://www.queercents.com/2007/01/04/difference-between-debt-consolidation-and-debt-settlement/

We at Queercents are not legally able to give specific financial advice to individuals, but we definitely want to support everyone with general guidance and resources. Hope this helps.
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

My friend John told me to look on the internets for advice in getting out of debt. I work as a cashier and I don't make much money. I have three boys I raise as a single mom. The father left a long time ago and only cares about smoking pot. We've been on welfare. My partner helps out but she has her own problems. I saw your thing and I thanked God! I really need help but I can't afford one of those fancy debt people. We can hardly afford food. I mostly ran up the credit cards to pay the rent and to send my boys to school. I can't save a dime. They keep cutting help and making it more difficult to get any help. What can I do? Can you help me?
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)
