Here's a question: If a couple is married in Massachusetts, can one member fly under a bereavement fare on an airline that recognizes spousal relationships (but not DPs) if the flight originates or ends at Boston's Logan Airport?

(I suspect not, as I imagine these things are federally regulated, but it just goes to highlight the ridiculousness of geographically-defined marriages.)
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

Don't you love how the list of reasons it sucks not to have any legal status for your relationship just keeps getting longer and longer?
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

Interesting... I checked American, and emailed Continental just to confirm what the web page said, but I had no idea so many airlines were dropping these fares entirely! Glad you investigated!
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

Thank you Paula.

I'm so glad to see this and to learn about another inequity our community faces.

As long as I've been blogging, I'm never ceased to be amazed at how little I know and how each day is a chance to learn something new.

I will be linking to this important piece.

Regards,
