I figured out I was spending $3 a day for diet coke at work. $15 a week X 45 weeks = $675. I have that figure and a picture of the Carnival Freedom on my monitor at work. My 8 day cruise is $639. It's a no brainer.

I had a terrible soda habit. I had plenty of cavities too--mostly between the teeth. That made me cut down my amounts a lot. Then I started dating a dental student, and the more I heard about how badly soda destroyed her patient's teeth, the more I thought I want to avoid painful periodontal work in the future. So, now I drink it only with booze--a very queer accomodation, I will admit.

I happen to be a diet coke fiend myself — with the optin of diet coke, coke zero, diet coke with spleda, and diet coke plus all available in my free soda fridge (among others — diet A&W is amazing if you aren’t looking for non-caffeinated). But I have not bothered with the vitamins. I take my multi-vitamin every day and get some more in my normal diet. If you’re drinking vitamin enhanced soda all day, the result is most likely something between having no effect and getting “too many” of the vitamins. I don’t know if the ones they include would matter, but there are some vitamins/minerals that are actually bad to have too much of.

And really.. have you seriously convinced yourself that diet soda with vitamins is nutritious? I’ve just accepted that it is slowly destroying my insides and there’s nothing I am willing to do about it .

This used to be me. Until I got 6 cavities in one year. I thought I was safe with diet, but it just wasn't true. Luckily, I was able to transfer my addiction to coffee (which previously I totally hated even the smell of), which also lets me skip the aluminum cans, making me feel a little less guilty about my impact on the planet!

MMMmmmm.....never knew they were putting Vitamins in Coke...Diet or Otherwise. Personally I can't drink Diet Drinks...I have the first symptom to the Allergy to Nutrasweet (Aspartame). Anything sweetened by it will cause me to have a Migraine Headache. However I am also somewhat Allergic to the price they charge for them....so I'm an Iced Tea drinker and I brew my own....the Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Pot (the one where the steeping basket sits in the pitcher) is one of the worlds greatest inventions. }:~D Roland
