About Lesbian Life

Kathy Belge of About.com’s Lesbian Life column recently selected the Top 10 Best Lesbian Blogs and we made the grade! We feel like rock stars next to the likes of Rosie O’Donnell and Kate Clinton, but it’s the other schleps like us who are posting daily during kid’s nappy time or before the day job that are the real lesbo blogerati!

Here’s the list and a big kiss to Kathy for the link love!

1. Pam’s House Blend: Pam is the queen of the political beat and blogging has made her a household name. I interviewed her awhile back when I was trying to get couples to talk about money. This was a futile effort which is why I changed the format to Ten Money Questions, but Pam and her partner were the last couple to air their dirty money laundry to readers and for that I’m forever grateful.

2. Mombian: I’ve interviewed Dana too and since then we have been online buddies. She’s a mommy and family activist and host of the very popular Blogging for LGBT Families Day.

3. Jasmyne Cannick: Jasmyne’s blog was new to me, but I’m already a fan just for her “Weight Loss Diary” posts. She’s lost 190 pounds with 20 to go. I know this isn’t the focus of her blog, but weight and trying to maintain it is my albatross so I’m rootin’ for her success!

4. Rosie: Although a polarizing figure, I respect that she came out in Hollywood years ago. I still don’t get the poetry though… but plenty of people do and they wait for her words to post.

5. The Other Mother: I never knew there were so many lesbian mommy blogs. We’re still trying to get pregnant, but hopefully I’ll have reason to follow Robin’s blog more often.

6. Good As You: G.A.Y.: What stone have I been living under. How come this is the first time I’ve heard of this one?

7. Queercents: Thank you, Kathy! And thanks to all our great writers here at Queercents.

8. Kate Clinton Communikate: I’m embarrassed to say, I’ve never seen Kate Clinton perform but then again, I’ve never been on an Olivia cruise or to Ptown in over a decade. But I still can appreciate a funny gal and her writings.

9. Best Lesbian Week Ever: I’d been stalking Sarah Warn for over a year and she finally gave Queercents a plug. I’m a big fan of her business savvy… growing AfterEllen.com and getting acquired by Logo. Isn’t that every blogger’s dream? Her dishing on Hollywood is groovy too.

10. Lesbian Dad: I will be a lesbian dad someday so this one gets bookmarked. Plus A+ rating for her use of all the lovely Flickr photos.
