Roland...

Excellent points, but bummed that I've been banished to lower class!

And you're right about the LGBT community leading the way... another great reason why we need Queercents.

Thanks for your continued support!
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

Well Nina you seem to have hit all the salient points in your post.

I'm firmly in the camp that says we APPEAR to have more money than the heterosexuals because of the lack of child care expenses...including the most massive one of a College Education.

Add to this that in the Male Couple situation you have two people who will earn "higher" salaries. In the Heterosexual Couple situation you have the "higher" earning Male and the historically "lower" paid (for the same work...and NO its not Fair but it's the current Reality) Female.... while in the strict Female Couple situation you have two people who usually earn a "lower" wage.

Thus THEORETICALLY it can be alluded to in the Three Forms of Financial Class standing as:

Male/Male Couple.... Upper Class

Male/Female Couple.... Middle Class

Female/Female Couple.. Lower Class

True all the Time???? Absolutely Not!!!

But like all Generalisations and Stereotypes there has to be enough truth in the characterizations for it to have been noticed by the overall population thus prompitng them to infer the referenced Generalisation/Stereotype on the group in question.

The one question I've always had is since Theoretically we have more money to spend why are GLBT people (and in my experience) more fiscally irresponsible than their heterosexual counterparts???

It should be the GLBT population that leads the way in showing people how to prepare for eventual retirement.
