Lately, most of our new writers have focused on series ideas, like Tamara with her dating on a budget column; or they gravitate to a specific topic, like Helen and her tax-related posts. When Holly Wagg contacted me, she was upfront about not doing themes well ‘“ but indicated that she was quite successful at random:

What I’m thinking that I can contribute is what the random application of all those things you’re supposed to do to be a financial adult. Like this morning, we’re refinancing our mortgage to get a lower rate but also to access some of our home equity to pay down a whopper debt load due to the purchase of the house from hell. We’ve just done our wills. Are doing life insurance. Have RESPs set up for our kids, etc.

What’s an RESP? As a Canadian, she’s had to spend some of her early financial explorations uncovering north of the 49th parallel lingo like RRSP, RESP and TFSA to make sense of her own financial matters. And now, we’re happy to have her writing down these random thoughts in narrative posts at Queercents!

You can read more about her background and love for the non-profit world on her bio page. Please welcome Holly aboard!
