Last, Queercents announced the official launch of its Professional Directory (note links and details – above left hand corner of this page). The Professional Directory is a place to browse for LGBT and LGBT-friendly professionals. We all know from our day-to-day experiences and those shared at Queercents that the issues faced by LGBT people take on a unique spin. This is why it is often important to work with professionals who know how to deal with the financial issues of our lives.

What sets the Queercents Professional Directory apart from other listings on the Internet is the ability to view an extended profile and get to know the person through their articles and blog posts published on the Directory site. Click on the sample profile here to see for yourself.

As an aside, our readers who are of the more technical persuasion might be interested in how we developed the backend. Queercents partnered with Andrea and Ron Rennick for their experience with WordPress MU, the multi-blog version of WordPress. Their innovation allows for each Directory listing to be a separate blog on the system. Andrea was pleased with the results.

‘œI believe this is the first WPMU implementation like this. So many people see the software and think ‘˜blog farm,’ but it can be so much more with the right customizations.’

And indeed it is so much more. It’s a unique resource for our community! So use it and help us populate the listings by asking the LGBT and LGBT-friendly professionals in your social network to sign up. It’s a robust tool and we want as many Directory members and Queercents readers to benefit from it.
