		<description>Great post, Helen.  I&#039;m always happy to see people start making the economic arguments in favor of switching to sustainable living.  This break down makes so much sense to me.

As far as the reduction recommendations, I think we need to seriously start pressuring the car companies to make more hybrids and eventually fully electric cars.  NPR&#039;s Science Friday had a great piece about this in the Fall.  College students have figured out how to do it - they&#039;ve even made business plans that show how to make it profitable for the auto industry and affordable for the consumer.
