I’m appalled by your stock photo for this article. “costumes” mimicking indigenous culture are racist and aid in erasing and de-legitimizing native peoples. Cultural appropriation is not something to be taken lightly and I hope that this is addressed.
I would have never seen it that way but then again I am just not that negative. It is more of a costume celebrating a culture. I am not sure what you see in it as offensive.
