About Dawn

Dawn works within the telecommunications field, sitting in front of a computer 8 hours a day. And when she isn’t getting paid, she still sits in front of the computer, voluntarily, at home. Beyond her infatuation with the computer, she enjoys reading and going to movies with her partner of 10 years.

Dawn met her partner, Surfgirl, online and they have been together ever since. As they look forward to the next 10 years of their life together, Dawn likes to teach surfgirl how to be frugal and live simply and surfgirl likes to giggle and roll her eyes.

Taught to count with money as a child, Dawn has cultivated that interest in money and what it can get you, ever since. However, since money can only go so far, frugal and simple living has been her mantra for filling the gaps and making the money last longer.

In December of 2004 Dawn started the first frugal blog, entitled “Frugal for Life” as a way to organize all the information and tips she had gathered over time. Slowly, people took an interest in her off-kilter perspective and have rewarded her with comments to her blog.

The goals for Dawn’s future are simple; live near the ocean for Surfgirl’s sanity, have a nice cushion to retire on and have more free time to give to charity work.
