Neil Scott QueercentsNeil Scott is a young transguy living it up in the South. He is in college, one that looks the other way when folks bring up trans issues. Neil is particularly interested in personal finance strategies for transgender people, particularly folks who are young.

Neil is an English/Women’s Studies double major who dreams of being a young adult librarian. This means that Neil spends a lot of time reading Foucault. Neil also works at the writing center at his college, carefully socking away funds into savings and avoiding making credit card overspending a habit.

When Neil isn’t in school, he lives with his partner in Austin, TX, where they buy breakfast tacos and are saving up for a house and a car. He wants to provide a couple of things in his series here at Queercents: a perspective on the economics of coming out, as well as the economics of being a young transguy. Neil is also the founder of Privilege Praxis, a blog about how privilege becomes a practice. You can check it out at privilegepraxis.wordpress.com.
