About Rachel
Rachel Gollay recently graduated from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Radio-TV-Film and English. In addition to her diploma, she accumulated a formidable pile of student loan debt.
Thankfully, the doom of repayment is officially deferred until a later date due to her current occupation as a full-time graduate student in Communication and Culture at Indiana University-Bloomington. Rachel blogs about her experiences living on a modest monthly stipend, and hopes to provide some useful advice for surviving the graduate school process–both financially and emotionally.
Rachel teaches courses in Public Speaking at IU and studies film and media, with a particular focus on documentary, new media, adaptation, gender, and queer theory. She hopes that her passion for media and writing will channel into a rewarding career in the future.
When she’s not studying, grading papers, or procrastinating, Rachel is writing and performing her own music, cooking vegan cuisine, and obsessively reordering her Netflix queue. Rachel can be reached at rachel@queercents.com.
