The Miami Gay Scene has died down in recent years with the closing of some of Diskoteque, House Nightclub, Cameo Sundays, and event venues such as Mansion. It has since been reviving this past year with the re-opening of Palace bar and the increased popularity of drag, interest in ACS: Versace, and the new gay-friendly resorts.

One of the soon-to-be improved resorts will be Hotel Gaythering which offers a resource mostly aimed at locals with dodgeball, 80s nights, and a spa. The Gaythering is breaking ground soon on a new pool to add to the resorts draw. Currently it offers a hot tub, sauna, and unique rooms walking distance to Twist and Score bar.

The most exciting thing coming to South Beach is Axel Hotel known for their hetero-friendly hotels in Barcelona and Berlin. They recently bought the Hall Hotel in Sobe which has a resort style pool closer to the beach. This should be opening later tihis Summer 2018.

Good news American fellas: Axel Hotels will have its first location in the US.

With this opening we continue with our expansion plan. AxelBeach Miami will open this summer 2018, after the 3 projects of 2017: Axel Hotel Madrid, AxelBeach Ibiza and TWO Hotel Berlin by Axel.

Yes! We are going to have a hotel in the new gay capital of United States. It will be in the iconic Collins Ave of Miami Beach, less than 3 minutes walking of South Beach beach, in an Art-Deco building constructed in 1940.

AxelBeach Miami will have 159 rooms and all that’s necessary to become a tourism icon in the city: Restaurant, Fitness & Spa, Lounge Bar and a Sky Bar in the rooftop where you can join the unique atmosphere of our establishments. All of this in a symbolic building of the zone.

In 2007, Axel Hotels opened its first hotel in South America, Axel Hotel Buenos Aires and two years later, in 2009, Axel Hotel Berlin. They then grew four years later with AxelBeach Maspalomas, in Gran Canaria, following the TWO Hotel Barcelona by Axel, the second Axel meeting point in the city inaugurated in July 2015. Following with the opening of our second hotel in Berlin, TWO Hotel Berlin by Axel opened in January 2017. The most recent example of this growth has resulted in the opening of our first in Ibiza, AxelBeach Ibiza, which will opened 15th May and Axel Hotel Madrid opened in early August.
