While we have all been quarantined for weeks now without an end in sight we at least have our family in the virtual LGBT community to help the time pass. This is not only a way to exercise indoors with others dancing, show off the clothes or masks we were going to wear out to brunch, or interact with fellow members of the queer community on issues such as politics and issues currently facing us.

First, you may need to download the Zoom or Twitch app to join in on these meetings. Some of them will live stream on Facebook Live or on Youtube. If you have an Apple TV you can look for the livestreams on the Facebook app, and look up meeting channels on Zoom or Twitch.

Drag Queens Live: Release the Virtual Drag Queens!

Our favorites so far have been the QuarantineQueens where they have a talk show discussing LGBTQ issues, politics and more starring one of our favorite Drag Queens from Ft. Lauderdale Daisy Deadpetals. You can find them on Facebook Live or on quarantinequeens.net.

DJ’s we have been enjoying live have been Orlando’s DJ Scott Robert (Pulse/Parliament House) who often plays videos with his dance floor hits and house themes and DJ’s from some of the biggest nightclub followings such as DJ Steve Sidewalk’s College Tuesday at the Ritz.

South Florida queens are not the only ones drawing in hundreds to thousands into their virtual world. Chicago is one of the leaders of the virtual dance party with over a thousand people joining in on the Hydrate Quarankiki each weekend.
