Queercents introduces Helen Maynard
When I received an email from Helen Maynard about her interest in writing for Queercents, it took a few exchanges before I realized she was from the vlog episodes of ‘œShe Got Me Pregnant‘ that post regularly at Mombian, Sustenance for Lesbian Moms. She is Dana Rudolph’s partner in life (sixteen years and counting!) and partner in crime (63 episodes to date!) when it comes to ‘œvideo commentary on the culture, media, and resources that pertain to the grand diversity of lesbian parenthood.’
She is also founder and principal of Affine Financial Services where she helps individuals with taxes and financial planning. She happens to be a PhD semiconductor engineer who has worked at such places as IBM and Bell Labs. She enjoys science and technology but finds it more personally rewarding to help folks get more out of their money… which is why you’ll want to read her posts!
Helen lives in the suburbs north of Boston with Dana and their glorious five-year-old son. We look forward to her contributions, so please welcome her to Queercents.
Welcome Helen! I’m already enjoying your post. Financial planning AND taxes. I draw the line after financial planning though I’m working on the mental tax block. I also came from an engineering background though I mostly did technical sales. Glad you’ve joined Queercents!
