Queercents Weekly Roundup: Daylight Saving Tomorrow
After some time working, the end is drawing near to my forge project. There’s definitely something satisfying about successfully completed projects and being able to show them off. But before I go back to that, the roundup.
- Using martial arts star Bruce Lee as an example, like Aundi http://www.queercents.com/2008/03/08/get-fit-for-free-work-out-like-a-boxer/, Zen Habits has some tips on how to get fit without using a gym. (Read it at Zen Habits)
- There’s no denying the importance of an emergency fund, especially if you’ve had to use it. Trent gives a step-by-step rundown of how to make it happen. (Read it at The Simple Dollar)
- The recession has been tough tough on people, but there’s no reason you can’t see a little humor in it sometimes. Look at all the book covers found on Amazon by people who were horrifically wrong about the economy and the housing industry. (Read it at BoingBoing)
- Everyone seems focused on where you can save money and cheaper alternatives that it’s important to remember some things that are worth their price, even in a recession. (Read it at The Wall Street Journal via Lifehacker)
- I love projects and fixing things. Yesterday I patched a pair of pants that now has 8 patches (including a patch over a patch) and soon will be in need of more. Granted, they’re only going to be work clothes, but now they have personality and I don’t have to downgrade a nicer pair of jeans. Apparently I’m right in step with this awesome Repair Manifesto. (Read it at GOOD)
- On the off-chance you haven’t yet filled your taxes, Get Rich Slowly has compiled numerous 2009 tax resources. (Read it at Get Rich Slowly)
