Ten Money Questions on hiatus: seeking famemonger to step in
Did you come here looking for Ten Money Questions? These interviews have been my Friday routine for more than two years and it’s been wonderful to rub ‘œmoney’ shoulders with over 100 people of prominence in the LGBT community. Some were fantastic. A few others were, let’s be honest… filler. But the majority of them have been down right fun for yours truly.
That said, the interviews require a lot of time… way more than the typical post and now that motherhood is upon me I need to cut back on my devotion to Queercents and focus more on a real baby. So I’m looking for a volunteer to take over the reins of Ten Money Questions.
The ideal candidate is someone who wants to rub virtual shoulders with the best of the LGBT community. Sometimes they actually happen to be rich (Andrew Tobias, Mitchell Gold) or famous (Kate Clinton, Alan Cumming, Megan Mullally) or infamous (Lane Hudson) or have a famous mother (Erin Hamilton) or somewhat famous partner (Monica Nation) or they’re incredibly smart (Rebecca Walker, Dr. Susan Love) or sassy (Susie Bright) or funny (Suzanne Westenhoefer, Sabrina Matthews) or I simply had a crush on them (Anne Stockwell, Kara Swisher) and added them to the list. It’s a long list. And there are plenty more names on it: you can aim high with the A-Listers: Ellen, Tim Gill, David Geffen, Suze Orman or start with the second string: Neil Patrick Harris, Peter Paige, Tegan and Sara, Chad Allen, Sara Gilbert, Perez Hilton, Christopher Rice, Indigo Girls, Jackie Warner, or how about Greg Louganis’¦ believe you me, there’s plenty of low hanging fruit on the D-List.
To get you started, I’m willing to share the contents of my little black book. After all, it’s not that hard to get to every gay and lesbian appearing next season on Bravo’¦ you just have to know the right people.
So if you’re up for the job! Well, not ‘œjob’ since I can’t pay you’¦ consider it more like an internship or resume builder (if you’re twentysomething and trying to break into the communications or the PR field). Or perhaps you’re older like me and easily star struck and have extra time on your hands.
If you think that Ten Money Questions would be an interesting way to get involved with Queercents, then have-your-people-get-in-touch-with-my-people (darling!) by sending an email to: nina AT queercents DOT com and telling me why you’d like to be considered for the slot. Otherwise, Ten Money Questions is on hiatus’¦ at least until the new baby is out of diapers.
